A Baby Shower
February 12, 2012
I threw my first baby shower today. Have you seen Bump Smitten? It is an amazing resource for baby shower ideas. While perusing the site one day, I fell in love with a design of yellow and grey elephants.
Just to let you know how amazing the site is, they have PDF downloads of the entire shower for FREE!
As a thank you to Bump Smitten for being so fabulous, I am posting photos of their documents in action. I didn’t take photos of the invitations, but they were adorable.
Included in the downloads is a template for invitations, games, and decorations. Each is customizable by adding text to the PDF.
I wish I would have taken more pictures of the actual printouts, but you can see the full documents on Bump Smitten’s site.
As you can see, this was simply a post to tell you how much I love that site. You should go to it if you are planning a shower anytime soon.
As you can see from the photos, I served chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting, chocolate chip cookies, and lemon bars. The recipes are linked if you are interested.
A Shadowy Encounter
February 2, 2012
Lately my son has been into his action figures, or as he calls them, “bad guys.” While watching him play with his bad guys, I had a mental image of Batman and Penguin fighting in a dark alley. The theme to this week’s photography challenge is “shadows.”
Using a spotlight in the corner of our living room, Batman and Penguin had a shadowy encounter.
Next week’s theme is “drink up!” With the Superbowl this weekend, I shouldn’t have a hard time getting a photo of that.

2. I had a Dream (Missed this week due to power outage)

Life with Louie: Cleaning Woes
February 1, 2012
I hate cleaning the kitchen. There is no other way to put it. I wish I had a maid whose sole purpose in my house was to attend to all things involved in kitchen tidiness. It is my least favorite thing to do. The biggest problem is that I use my kitchen; for three meals a day. I cook. I bake. Things get dirty in there.
Every night when I am cleaning up from a day of disaster making, I pout and feel sorry for myself for having to clean up my mess.
To describe this is the right tone, I thought a cartoon was necessary.
