My name is Emily. I live in Seattle. I am a mom and a wife. I write and am apparently in need of approval from others. Please “like” me. :)

Before staying home with my son, I worked in the non-profit world. I had what I considered the best job in the world, working for an organization I am passionate about. After my son was born, I took a three month maternity leave. Part of the perks of having the best job in the world is it comes with the best boss in the world too. I was fortunate enough to return to work, bringing my baby into the office with me. It was great in theory, but in practice I didn’t get as much done as I should have been doing. After three months of having a baby in the office with me, I decided to focus my attention on my son. It was an incredibly hard decision to make, but one I will never regret.

I have been a stay-at-home mom since August 2010 and wouldn’t change it for anything. I now realize that this is the best job in the world. I have two wonderful little boys who teach me more about life than I could have ever imagined.

My background is in the field of communication. I love to write. This blog is my writing outlet. I write about all types of life experiences and observations. I write my own opinions, which I know will not always jive with the opinions of others. I can’t avoid that.

Also, it has been my observation that whenever I feel like I am in control of my life I get a swift kick in the arse proving that while I make my own choices, it is not I in control.
